At Turing House School, we are committed to creating a learning environment that supports students’ wellbeing, maximises learning time, and reduces unnecessary distractions. With this in mind, we will be introducing a new system for managing mobile phones from September 2025.
During a recent visit to a nearby secondary school that introduced Yondr pouches last term, we were impressed by how smoothly the system operated. Staff shared that since implementing the pouches, they’ve seen noticeable improvements in student attention and engagement during lessons.
From September, all students from Years 7-11 will be required to store their mobile phones in secure Yondr pouches during the school day (8:30am–3:00pm). This change is part of our wider commitment to fostering a phone-free school culture that encourages focus, face-to-face connection, and meaningful engagement in every lesson. We believe that regular breaks from digital devices are essential for developing healthier habits, improving concentration, and nurturing a more mindful and productive school environment.
