Sports Day Layout – A Celebration of
Team Spirit and Participation!
Arguably one of the most exciting days of the year – Sports Day! It's all
about energy, enthusiasm, and everyone getting involved. With every student taking part in at least three
events, it’s a true celebration of mass participation and teamwork!
Throughout the day students compete in their tutor groups, going head-to-head
across a range of athletic and team events, all aiming to beat their own personal bests, and rack up points
towards the Tutor Cup, with the possibility of winning a homemade (by Mr Aloysuis in DT) medal. The
following events take place in the morning:
-
Track Events: 100m, 200m, 300/400m, 800m, 1500m
-
Field Events: Shot Put, Javelin, and Discus
-
Team Sports: Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Netball
The afternoon finale involves the whole school coming together for an
unforgettable afternoon of fun and competition:
-
Tug of War – Strength, teamwork, and serious bragging rights on the line!
-
Relay Races – Fast-paced, all-out sprinting for those final, crucial points.
Every event counts. Every point matters. And most importantly, everyone plays a
part. Whether you're sprinting down the track, launching a javelin, spiking a volleyball, or pulling
with your team in Tug of War – Sports Day is all about getting involved and supporting your tutor group with
pride!
With the introduction of the House system next year, we are literally making
Turing House School history. Will it be May, Ennis-Hill, Attenborough or Lovelace house who wins the first
ever House Cup?
Let the games begin! 🏆💪🎉
