Year 10 Term 6 and Year 11 Term 1&2: Cambridge National - R187
Outdoor and adventurous activities give you
opportunities to engage in activities in a natural
outdoor setting. The UK is fortunate to have a variety
of different terrains and facilities, from coastal areas, to
lakes and rivers. We also have hills and mountains as
well as cycling trails and 15 National Parks.
These activities do not need to be competitive and
many groups of like-minded people plan activities in
their recreational time to enjoy the natural environment
around them. In this unit you will learn how to find
out information about what opportunities there are in
your local area, as well as nationally in the UK, for all
different types of activities. You will learn how you can
benefit from and enjoy activities safely by finding out
what equipment, clothing, facilities and technology you
need, as well as completing planning to help keep you
safe.
