Muslims who believe in the imamate, the successorship of Ali

The belief that the prophets are and important channel of communication between God and humans.

Iblis
Satan, a spiritual being created from fire who was thrown from paradise for refusing to bow to Adam

Ka'bah
Then holiest place in Islam, the black cube shaped building in the grand mosque

Id-ul-Adhu
A Muslim festival that celebrates the prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his own son for God

Caliph
A person considered to be a political and religious successor to the prophet Muhammad and the leader of the Sunni Muslim community

Imam
A person who leads the communal prayer and the title given to Ali and his successors in Shi'a Islam

Imamate
The divine appointment of the Imams

Torah
The five books revealed by God to Moses

A time when the world will end and every soul will be judged by God

Spiritual beings who act as messengers for God

The Arabic name for the angel Gabriel

The Arabic name for the Angel Michael who rewards good deeds

The idea that God knows or determines everything that will happen in the universe

A war which meets internationally accepted criteria for fairness. Following the Christian rules for a just war

Pacifism
The belief of people who refuse to take part in any form of violence or war

Peacemaker
A person who works to establish peace in the world or in a certain part of it.

Peacemaking
The action of trying to establish peace

Retaliation
Deliberately harming someone as a response to them harming you

Self-defence
Acting to prevent harm to yourself or others

Greed
Selfish desire for something

Holy War
A war fought due to difference in religion

Lesser Jihad
The outward struggle to defend ones's own faith ,family and country from threat

Weapons that work by a nuclear reaction; they devastate huge area and kill large numbers of people

Weapons that can kill large numbers of people

Weapons that have a living organism or infective material in them that will lead to death or disease

Modern warfare is warfare using the concepts, methods, and military technology that have come into use during and after World War II.
