mentoring and volunteering

Headteachers Welcome

Mentoring

In sixth form there are opportunities to mentor a lower school student.  Sixth formers can sign up to provide subject support in the classroom or perhaps help a student who does not have English as their first language.

Sixth Form students can help in many ways, including: reading, helping to create friendships, building self-esteem, or supporting PE with individual or group coaching.

This experience will be very rewarding, enhance your communication skills and support your university and job applications.

Other Volunteering

Volunteering is an important part of being a well rounded student in the Sixth Form.  This can be extremely rewarding for you but also very beneficial for the individuals and organisations you are working with.

Students are encouraged to complete a minimum of ten hours volunteer work throughout the year.  You can use your non-contact periods to volunteer in school or in the local community.
