Curriculum

Term 1: Module 8: El futuro te espera

This unit will focus on jobs and future prospects. Students will develop their ability to:

- Talk about what job they would like to do in the future

- Talk about the world of work

- The role and importance of languages

Students will complete end-of-module assessments in listening and reading.

Term 2: Mock Exam - Writing and Speaking Practice

Students will revisit modules 1 and 2 to prepare for their mock exam. This unit of work will consist mainly of:

- past and draft paper practice questions

- preparing for the role-play element of the speaking exam

- preparing for the conversational element

- preparing for the picture task

- preparing for the short and long written questions

- preparing for the read a text aloud task

Students will complete a past paper in listening, reading, writing and speaking. This will take place under exam conditions and will provide students with an opportunity to understand expectations of the GCSE.

Students will begin revising modules 1-7 and practising exam skills.

Students will sit their second mock exam.

Term 4: Revision of modules 1-8

Students will continue to revise modules 1-8 with a key focus on the upcoming speaking exam.

Students will do a 'walking-talking' mock in which their classroom teacher will guide them through the exam paper in order to ensure that they are fully prepared with the layout and exam expectations for the mock, which takes place at the start of this term.
