Religion & Philosophy Overview
Curriculum

Term 1 (Year 12 Drop Down Day 1 - 8 hours): (Note: 2 Year Cycle): Human Sexuality

Students will explore the concept of sex and sexuality. An exploration of how religious views have influenced rule makng and how society has changed in the UK and the world in terms of its views in this area.

Students will be divided into groups (for and against) and take part in a live debate, judged by a school governor.

Term 2 (Year 12 Drop Down Day 1 - 8 hours): : This house believes that war can never be justified

Students will explore the evidence for and against war, in order to answer the question if war can every be morally justified.

Students will be divided into groups (for and against) and take part in a live debate, judged by a school governor.

Term 3 (Year 12 Drop Down Day 1 - 8 hours):: Genocide through the ages

Students will gain a greater understanding and empathy for genocides that have taken place throughout our history. The concept of sanctity of life will be a focal point durnig the day.
