Exam preparation, revision, exam skills and managing stress
In this unit, students will explore a wide variety of revision techniques and be given the opportunity to experiment in order to discover which best suit their style of learning. They will be given the opportunity to create a revision timetable, which will become a working document that is frequently revised. Time management techniques will be discussed.
Tips for remaining physically and emotionally health during the exam period will be discussed and will include; healthy lifestyles, healthy eating, relaxation techniques and sleep routines.
In this unit, students will further develop their knowledge of post 16 options. Students will be given the opportunity to research and discuss possibilities.
Students will develop an understanding of the college application process and plans beyond school.
Students will explore skills for interviews, employment and career progression.
In this unit, students will learn basic first aid. They will consider real life scenarios and be given the opportunity to suggest appropriate responses.
Students will also learn CPR and be shown a defibrillator, which will include the electronic instructions that are given with this specific piece of equipment.
In this unit, students will further develop their knowledge of British Values and how they influence our society today. Students will focus specifically on democracy and they will also develop their knowledge of non-democratic society. Students will explore the role of religion in British society and they will develop their understanding of the value of a multicultural and multi faith society.
Students will also develop their understanding of terrorism and within this they will attempt to answer the question, 'what can be done about terrorism?'.
