Term 1Managing GCSE pressures: time, revision and mental health
In this unit, students will experiment with different revision techniques and memory games. Student will consider the different pressures they may face during their GCSE's and they will learn about different coping strategies.

Term 2Personal Finances
In this unit, students will explore how to manage finances both during further education and in later life. Students will learn about credit cards, debit cards, overdrafts, income tax, National Insurance and budgeting. Students will understand the causes and effects of debt, including homelessness. Students will also develop an understanding of the risks associated with gambling and on-line gaming.

Term 3Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
In this unit, students will further discuss healthy relationships and sexual relationships. They will discuss coping strategies for break ups. Students will learn about the law in relation to sexual activity. They will learn the signs of abuse within different relationships and will explore ways of managing such situations. Students will discuss the porn industry, with a focus on the potentially harmful impact on relationships in relation to expectations and reality.

Term 4Pregnancy, Parenting and Families
In this unit, students will develop their understanding of different family units and dynamics. Students will learn the facts around pregnancy and options. Students will explore different situations, including case studies and will discuss their opinions. Students will also learn about parenting skills. This will be linked to financial awareness.

Term 5Personal Safety and RSE   
In this unit, students will continue broadening their knowledge of sex education and about the risks and safety precautions when having a night out. They will learn in more detail the risks associated with technology, with a focus on on like grooming and child sexual exploitation.

Term 6The World of Work
In this unit, students will begin to research future career paths. They will learn about social etiquette in the work place. Students will also be given the opportunity to take part in a work experience week. This will be followed up with reflective exercises in school.
