Spanish Overview
Curriculum

Term 1: Tema 3 and 4

Students will study immigration in Spain - in particular the benefits it brings to the country. They will also study the Franco dictatorship - specifically the Civil War and rise of Franco.

End of unit assessments testing listening, reading and translation.

Term 2: Tema 3 and 4

Students will learn about the challenges of immigration and not only the problems it brings to Spain, but also the challenges that immigrants experience in Spain. They will also continue learning about the Spanish civil war and learn in detail about the Franco dictatorship.

End of unit tests testing listening, reading and translation along with two essays on film and book studied in Year 12.

Term 3: Revision

Students revise Tema 1 studied in Year 12 - the changes to the family, world of work and the impact of tourism in Spain. They will finish the unit on immigration by learning about the public and social reaction to immigration. They will also continue to practise essay skills for the literature and film works.

Term 4: Repaso

Students will revise Tema 2 and continue to practice the IRP and works essays. They will revise the topics of music, media and the role of traditions and festivals in Spain, studied in Year 12.
